    Many people like to go to Bourassa Lake. The Echo Trail offers hiking at its best, and probably you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, Deposit Lake is just a very short distance away. Any time is a wonderful time at Bourassa Lake if you love the outdoors. After a long day outdoors Grand Ely Lodge Resort And Conf Ctr is a great location to spend a night or two, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Bourassa Lake; Beatty Portage is a wonderful local trail.
 
   This lake is so wonderful. Lake Jeanette Campground is a tremendous campground nearby, and Bourassa Lake is right by the Stuart Portage. From a precipitation point of view Bourassa Lake is a rather typical location; June is the month that gets the most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Throughout the summertime here at Bourassa Lake, high temperatures typically reach the 70's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 40's.  
               Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 10's; winter nights come with lows in the-20's to Bourassa Lake.
If you came for an overnight stay Sioux River Campground is a perfect spot to camp, as expected you could also take a look at Eugene Lake while you're here; it's not far at all.

...there are two resorts on the lake and a public campground. Echo lake is fabulous for jumbo bluegill and the colors of these fish are remarkable. Back in the late seventies when my father stayed at spring bay resort, my father caught the 13th bluegill ever reprted to be taken out of the lake. Al Johnson, owner of the resort at that time kept a notebook of any bluegills/sunfish ever caught due to the fact that the species was not native. The first time I went to this lake was back in 2000. I casted my nightcrawler harness out and slowly reeled my bait and felt a nice tug, thinking I had a bass on I came to the surprise to have the biggest bluegill hooked I've ever caught in my life. After measuring the brilliant, blue and purple colored gill I recorded that it was 11 inches long. The fight the gill gave was that of a good two pound black bass. The fish were spawning and I caught 8 more in that same bay that were all gigantic in size. The next trip to the lake was in 2007, and I still thought that maybe the gills I caught were maybe a ''fluke'' and there cant be that many in the lake. T...
