     While you're here at Black Portage Lake you can take a hike along the Deerfield Trail, and if you need a location to stay Rodeway Inn Pine River is a good choice. This lake is so wonderful. Lots of people from Brainerd come to Black Portage Lake, and a brilliant nearby hotel is Trappers Landing Lodge. Throughout the days of summer highs here at Black Portage Lake get into the 70's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 50's. The winter brings highs down to  
   the 10's, and nighttime lows at Black Portage Lake all through the wintertime regularly descend into the-10's. Going for a hike along the Goose Lake Trail System will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity, and camping at Portage Camp Resort is always a great experience.
Be careful coming to Black Portage Lake, you might not ever want to return back home again. Black Portage Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Deer Acres is a great
 
               local campground. Lakes? Sure, Mud Portage Lake is close by. If the weather is tremendous here at Black Portage Lake, you can go for a hike along the Lake Erin Trail, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at close by Deep Portage Lake.
