Beautiful Binagami Lake has much to offer visitors. Not far from Binagami Lake, you'll stumble on Devils Track Lake which is a lovely lake, and on a delightful day you can take a hike along the Stairway Portage. This lake is so wonderful. There are other places here than Binagami Lake, for example Monker Lake; a great nearby hotel is Super 8 Motel - Grand Marais. Going for a hike along the Long Portage will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity, and you can stay the night at Grand Marais Recreation Area. at Gunflint Hills Golf Course, and in case you don’t mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Devil Track River. An attention-grabbing thing to have a look at next to Binagami Lake is Devils Track Lake
Dam. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Binagami Lake has to offer, you can camp at Go-fer Cabins Trailer Court. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Best Western Superior Inn And Suites is a perfect
location to spend a night or two. For the duration of the warm days of summer at Binagami Lake temperatures are mostly in the 70's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 50's. Highs through the wintertime are mostly in the 10's, and winter nights come with lows in the-10's to Binagami Lake.

Two Island Lake Campground
 | I have only been there in the winter waiting for the mushers to come through (for the Beargease Marathon), it is where I want my ashes to be. I missed one year of the Beargrease race (1998) but the next year I was there at Two Island it was a full moon and it was snowing at the same time, could see down the trail like it was daylight but it was snowing....that was my sign...like I didn't fall in love with it before...this is a beautiful place, small camground but nice in the summer. jkf... |
Trout Lake
 | 12 miles away Trout Lake approx 14 Northwest of Grand Marais,MN and then 4 miles east on #140 (Trout Lake Road)to the lake. Mink and Kimball lakes are also accessed by this road. BOATERS BEWARE - the public landing is a ''carry in landing'' meaning no trailered launches here. If you prefer you can launch at Trout Lake Resort for a fee of $5 to $10 but their landing is shallow as well and very rocky. NO BIG BOATS can get in and that's the way the folks at the resort like it. A boat with a ten h.p. will do the trick. In fact the folks at Trout Lake Resort will rent you one if they are not reserved by the resort guests for ~$35 for 1/2 day. The like is super clear and boasts lake trout and rainbows. We caught one rainbow on a lazy fishing/swimming expedition and another boat on the lake caught a small laker and one rainbow. This lake would be real fun for trout in the spring when they are near the surface but they can be found by trolling in 20 to 30' along the shore lines in late summer as well as the deeper spots.... |
Echo Lake
 | 18 miles away Echo is a nice lake to stop and drop a line when in the Schroeder tofte area. It is just up the road from Nine mile lake campground and has an easy to catch supply of small trout.
