Hay Creek is a great local stream, and there's a great forest called Saint Croix State Forest. The annual rainfall here at Billys Lake is about average; June is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month of the year is February. This lake is so wonderful. A good spot for whitewater paddling in close proximity to Billys Lake is Upper Tamarack River. Hay Creek Dam is worth a visit while you're here,       and you're probably addicted to lakes, Rock Lake is one of those nearby. So much fun stuff to do here at Billys Lake, too good to be true. Boulder Campground is a delightful local campground; do take a hike on the Markville Snowmobile Trail. If you need a site to stay Best Western Northwoods Lodge is a nice choice, and get your heart beating on the splendid whitewater of Lower Tamarack River. Summertime at Billys Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's.                  When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 50's. During the wintertime this place gets highs in the 10's; night lows through the wintertime for Billys Lake tend to be in the-10's. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes are perfect; Churchill Lake is a lake that's in close proximity to Billys Lake; dry warm beds await you at Lodge at Crooked Lake.
