Cascade River Campground is a great local campground, and you'll come across a gorgeous lake called Halls Pond. For the period of the summer highs here at Bigsby Lake get into the 70's, and all through the night it cools down to the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 10's, and night lows in the-10's for Bigsby Lake. Lakes are such serene places, why not explore Ward Lake near Bigsby Lake; if the weather is perfect, you can go for a hike along the Rib

| | Lake Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Some of the water nearby flows, like Murmur Creek. An average amount of rainfall falls at Bigsby Lake; August is the month that gets the most rain while February is usually the driest month. So much enjoyable stuff next to Bigsby Lake, clearly impressive. Lutsen has brilliant slopes and a friendly staff, and you can have a perfect hiking adventure along the North Shore State Trail. much fun. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is good on Poplar River, and Bigsby Lake is a glorious location to visit for more than one day, Poplar River Campground is a glorious location to camp nearby.

Two Island Lake Campground
 | 14 miles away I have only been there in the winter waiting for the mushers to come through (for the Beargease Marathon), it is where I want my ashes to be. I missed one year of the Beargrease race (1998) but the next year I was there at Two Island it was a full moon and it was snowing at the same time, could see down the trail like it was daylight but it was snowing....that was my sign...like I didn't fall in love with it before...this is a beautiful place, small camground but nice in the summer. jkf... |
