     Big Sucker Lake gets a typical amount of annual precipitation; throughout July this area sees the most rain, and February is when it's the driest. Going for a hike on the Skeeter Lake Trail System is always a glorious adventure, and Swan Lake Country Club is a brilliant golf course nearby. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this place. Near Big Sucker Lake you discover the Wasson Lake Trail which is a good hiking trail; a great site to camp here at Big  
   Sucker Lake is Swan Lake Resort.
Big Sucker Lake is not the only place close by, Big McCarthy Lake is a close by lake; Country Inn By Carlson Grand Rapids is a splendid place to get some rest. These mountains rock, just look at all the entertaining things to do in the Mesabi Range. Big Sucker Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Jko Campground is a great local campground, and after a long day outdoors Budget Host Inn Grand Rapids is a nice place
 
               to spend a night or two. Summertime at Big Sucker Lake comes with high temperatures in the 70's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's usually in the 50's. Highs through the winter are generally in the 10's, and night lows during the winter for Big Sucker Lake tend to be in the-20's.
This lake is so wonderful. There are glorious places to explore along the Wilson Lake Trail, naturally you could also check out Third Sucker Lake while you're here; it's not far at all. Big Sucker Lake is one of the lakes here in the Mesabi Range. You truly must go for the Mesabi Range.

There is plenty to do at the resort too. Swan Lake is known for its water clarity throughout the summer. Fishing is almost always good with a healthy supply of sunfish, crappies, northern and walleyes. Largemouth bass are definitely the most sought after fish the past few years with most of them released again after they are weighed and their picture is taken for our ''fishing report'' board. Our swimming area is safely marked off with no dangerous drop offs. We have plenty of sand for sunbathing and sandcastle building.

When you're not in or on the water you can play volleyball, badminton, ''fun'' frisbee golf, basketball, pitch horseshoes or play bocce ball. All recreational equipment can be checked out at no charge. Our game room is always busy with kids playing pinball or pool. At our convenience store you'll be able to pick up basic groceries, ice cream, pizzas, snacks, ice, fishi...
