     Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop by nearby Lone Pine Lake, and camping at Fifty Lakes Campground is always a tremendous experience. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Big Stone Lake you can take a hike along the Goose Lake Trail System, and a pleasant place to camp here at Big Stone Lake is Highview Campgrounds. High temperatures at Big Stone Lake through the months of summer are in the 80's, and all through summer  
   nights temperatures are in the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 10's while the cold winter nights at Big Stone Lake are in the-10's.
Americinn - Pequot Lakes, Mn is a good place to get some rest, and why not take a look at a swamp like Blue Lake since you're here at Big Stone Lake. Don't stop me now, cause I'm havin' a nice time here at Big Stone Lake. Dry warm beds await you at Days Inn Nisswa, and you can have a pleasant hiking
 
               adventure along the North Country Trail. Big Stone Lake gets very little rain; the wettest month of the year is usually June, that's the one that rains the most while February is generally the driest month.
Here at Big Stone Lake you'll most likely meet some folks from Brainerd. Lakes? Sure, Boiler Lake is in close proximity.

... our favorite Minnesota campgrounds and we stay here several times each summer. We love that it is right on a lake and that many of the sites have their own little beach. The campground is quiet and the sites˙ are screened from one another for privacy. I hate to even post a review out of the fear that our favorite camping secret will become everyone's camping favorite. It is close enough to Longville˙ and Remer that you can run in for ice and supplies as needed. One small hint that I will pass on is that you might want to stop in Longville or Hackensack to buy your˙ firewood as the campground does not have any for sale.Mabel Lake campground is not on a campsite reservation system but we have never had a problem finding a site here. We discovered this campground as a result of finding one of the more popular Leech Lake campgrounds full. Once we found Mabel Lake, we never bothered with the other campgrounds in the area again. Mabel Lake is rustic so those seeking hook-ups, flush toilets, and running water best move on to the more crowded campgrounds on Leech Lake and leave us to our ow...
