From a rain point of view Big Sand Lake is a reasonably typical place; June is when you get the most rain here, and February is the month with the least moisture. Whohoo, so much entertaining stuff in one place! Big Sand Lake is peerless! Remer Motel & Campground is a great spot to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Wigwam Motel is a pleasant location to spend       a night or two; why not camp at Little Sand Lake Campground while you're here at Big Sand Lake. The Johnson Lake Trail System is a fine hiking trail in the vicinity of Big Sand Lake, and at Big Sand Lake you always meet someone from Brainerd. High temperatures at Big Sand Lake during the summer months are in the 80's while night lows are frequently in the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 10's, and winter nights come with lows in the-10's to Big                  Sand Lake. Do visit Little Sand Lake in the neighborhood of Big Sand Lake, it's a pretty lake, and there is a magnificent hiking trail nearby called the Sugar Lake Trail System.
