Here at Big Sand Lake you'll perhaps meet some folks from Brainerd, and Andersen's Four Seasons Resort is a pleasant local campground. On a brilliant day at Big Sand Lake you can take a hike along the Johnson Lake Trail System; lakes are such calm places, why not stop at Little Sand Lake. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Big Sand Lake, and during summer nights temperatures are in       the 50's. All through the winter highs are in the 10's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Big Sand Lake temperatures drop to the-10's. This lake is so wonderful. Near Big Sand Lake you come across the Mud Lake Trail System which is a fine hiking trail, and Little Sand Lake Campground is a magnificent campground nearby. From a rain point of view Big Sand Lake is a relatively common location; the month with most of the rain is June; February on                  the other hand is the driest. There is a nice hiking trail near Big Sand Lake called the Sugar Lake Trail System, and you'll stumble on a stunning lake called Wahneshin Lake.
