A glorious location for whitewater paddling in close proximity to Big Rosendal Lake is Little Fork River, and going for a hike on the Taconite Trail is always a magnificent adventure. If you came for an overnight stay Wakemup Bay Campground is a perfect location to camp, and Americinn - Mt Iron, Mn is a good location to get some rest. Summertime brings highs in the 70's to Big Rosendal Lake.       When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 10's, and night lows through the wintertime for Big Rosendal Lake tend to be in the-10's. Not much rain falls here at Big Rosendal Lake; June is when you get the most rain here while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Man, is there heaps of exciting stuff to do in the Mesabi Range. You can run the rapids of Vermilion                  River in close proximity to Big Rosendal Lake, and there's some flowing water nearby, Maki Creek is a stream you can stop at while here. This lake is so wonderful. Pfeifer Lake Campground is a great local campground; dry warm beds await you at Elbow Lake Lodge. This lake is one of the great places here in the Mesabi Range. Any time is a good time at Big Rosendal Lake if you go for the outdoors.
