The Skeeter Lake Trail System offers hiking at its best, and needless to say, this is a nice neighborhood for folks who like lakes, Baldy Lake is a lake in close proximity. For the duration of the summertime at Big Island Lake temperatures are commonly in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 10's while Big Island Lake overnight low temperatures all       through the winter are in the-20's. There are some pleasant whitewater spots on Big Fork; hiking is a popular thing to do around Big Island Lake; Suomi Hills Trail System is a great local trail. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a location to stay Antler Lake Store & Motel is a wonderful choice, and you can stay the night at Spider Shores Resort. Life's too short to enjoy all the amusing stuff near Big Island Lake. A perfect close by hotel is Pine Grove                  Motel, and Big Island Lake is a fine place to camp, North Star Campground is a fine place.
