This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at Joe's Lodge, and wonderful hiking is available along the Webster Lake Trail System. During the months of summer, highs commonly are in the 70's at Big Bass Lake. Through the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 50's. A great site to camp here at Big Bass Lake is Balsam Beach Resort and Camp, and if you're a golfer then a delightful close by course is Castle Highlands Golf Course.

A pair of loons nest in the narrows, and 8 pair of Canadian Gesse nest in the wetland on the west side of the upper lake, raising aproximently 30 young each year. The Beavor and Otters are also in heaven on this lake. It has good fishing for Northern, Bass, Blue Gills , and Crappies.
