     Camping at Ico Campground is always a delightful experience, and if you need a location to stay Super 8 Eveleth is a pleasant choice. At Berg Lake you always meet someone from Duluth, and a nice nearby hotel is Lodge At Giants Ridge. Cloquet River is a great whitewater spot close to Berg Lake; Dinham Lake is a nearby lake that you could stop by.
The annual precipitation here at Berg Lake is about average; June is the month that gets the most rain while February
 
   is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. Hit the slopes at Giants Ridge around here, and do check out Lake Albert, it's a wonderful lake. During the days of summer at Berg Lake temperatures are frequently in the 70's while overnight lows are commonly in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 10's, and winter nights come with lows in the-10's to Berg Lake.

The river is at least 100 miles long. I've paddled from Katherine Lake to the St. Louis River and there is plenty of river to paddle besides the section from US 53 to US 2. The top section, from Katherine Lake to Lake Co #2 is an especially wild ride, and I've only done it once, but the drop is incredible, sometimes like a logging flume....
