If you are in St. Louis county it's always a good idea to stop by Beatty Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Beatty Lake is right by the Beatty Portage, and a fine close by hotel is Pine Ridge Motel. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Vermilion River; you're probably into lakes, Auchagah Lake is one of those nearby.
