Bear Lake is right by the Echo Trail, and if you came for an overnight stay Mc Kinley Park Campground is a good location to camp. Really nice skiing awaits you at Giants Ridge, and Phantom Creek is one of the streams close by that might be worth checking out. Bear Lake is a good location of normal rainfall; of all the months in a year June is the one with the most rain, and February       is the month with the least moisture. So much enjoyable stuff to do at Bear Lake, so little time. If you need a place to stay Lodge At Giants Ridge is a good choice. Hiking along the Stuart Portage is nice fun, and since you're here, you could also explore beautiful Bass Lake. This lake is so wonderful. The Canfield Portage offers hiking at its best, and Hoodoo Point Campground is a perfect campground nearby. Summertime highs at Bear Lake frequently                  tend to be in the 70's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 40's.
