Pine Lake is a lake close at hand, and Bass Lake is tremendous enough to spend more than a day at, Hoodoo Point Campground is a tremendous local campground. Go for a hike on the Stuart Portage, and if you need a site to stay Grand Ely Lodge Resort And Conf Ctr is a delightful choice. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Canfield Portage       is always a nice adventure. Through the summer highs here at Bass Lake reach the 70's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 40's. Daytime highs throughout the wintertime are in the 10's while the cold winter nights at Bass Lake are in the-20's. If you fancy the outdoors, you'll go for Bass Lake. There's so much to do here at Bass Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Mc Kinley Park Campground is a good site for that, and hey, Scott Bevier                  Creek is a delightful local stream. There are wonderful places to explore along the Echo Trail; a day on the slopes of Giants Ridge is just what you need. If you come at the right time of year, Vermilion River offers some fine whitewater, and you're probably hooked on lakes, Bear Lake is one of those close by. This lake is so wonderful. Bass Bay is reasonably near Bass Lake, and dry warm beds await you at Lodge At Giants Ridge.
