This lake is one of the great places here in the Mesabi Range. This lake is so wonderful. There is a pleasant hiking trail in the neighborhood of Bass Lake called the Wilson Lake Trail; you can stay the night at Jko Campground. The annual rain here at Bass Lake is about average; most of the rain falls during July while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation.       High temperatures at Bass Lake all through the long summer days are in the 70's; all through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Throughout the winter the highs are generally in the 10's with temperatures at Bass Lake dipping down into the-20's all through winter nights. Going for a hike on the Valley River Trail is always a pleasant adventure, and Thistledew Campground is a perfect campground here. A good nearby hotel is Country Inn By Carlson Grand Rapids.                  Be careful coming to the Mesabi Range, you might not ever want to go home again.
