Mississippi National River & Recreation Area is a wonderful site near Barker Lake, and if you're interested in hydro structures, you can visit Kelly Farms Dam. Barker Lake gets a typical amount of rain; the month with most of the rain is June; the driest month of the year is February. A delightful lake like Maple Marsh Lake right next door to Barker Lake is a great location to check       out, and Settlers Glen Lodges is a nice place to get some rest. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Trollhaugen is close to Barker Lake. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Barker Lake has to offer, you can camp at Golden Acres. This lake is so wonderful. The snow is great at Wild Mountain, and there are some magnificent whitewater spots on Apple River. Why not spend some time golfing at a close by golf course like Forest Hills Golf Club.                  There's so much to do here at Barker Lake that you need to camp here for a while, River Bend Mobile Home Park is a wonderful location for that. For the period of the days of summer at Barker Lake highs are usually in the 80's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's typically in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 10's while Barker Lake overnight low temperatures during the wintertime are in the-10's. This lake is so wonderful. There's whitewater on St. Croix River for all you adrenaline rush seekers. Barker Lake beyond doubt is in the middle of a striking outdoors paradise.
