Summer at Barker Lake comes with high temperatures in the 70's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 50's. Highs during the wintertime are frequently in the 10's, and nighttime lows at Barker Lake during the wintertime commonly drop into the-10's. What a place this is for outdoors folks. Christine Lake is a great lake near Barker Lake; hiking is a popular thing to do around Barker Lake; Honeymoon       Trail is a good local trail. This lake is so wonderful. Barker Lake is a splendid place to camp, Poplar River Campground is a splendid place, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Poplar River. This lake is so wonderful. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Lutsen, and you can stay the night at Crescent Lake Campground. After a long day outdoors Caribou Highlands Lodge is a perfect place to spend a night or two; why not take a refreshing                  hike along the North Shore State Trail. If you come at the right time of year, Temperance River offers some magnificent whitewater, and if you need a spot to stay Caribou Highlands Lodge Lutsen is a fine choice. Looking for some flowing water? Try Barker Creek, and do take a hike on the Rib Lake Trail.
