But wait, there's more exciting things to do in the Mesabi Range. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Sturgeon River, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Stingy Lake Trail. Dry warm beds await you at Super 8 Hibbing, and there are some pleasant whitewater spots on Little Fork River. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Hibbing Park Hotel is a magnificent place to spend a night or two, and not far from Balkan Lake you'll hit upon Louise Lake

Summertime at Balkan Lake comes with high temperatures in the 70's while night lows are ordinarily in the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 10's; night lows in the-10's for Balkan Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Just can't get enough of Balkan Lake. Take a hike on the Link Lake Trail, and you can stay the night at Pine Beach Resort RV Park.

a popular thing to do around Balkan Lake; Snake Trail is a tremendous local trail.
Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Mesabi Range. Getting to Lonesome Polecat Creek from Balkan Lake is uncomplicated; Forest Heights RV and Mobile Park is a glorious campground nearby.
