Not far from Backus Lake you get some splendid water scenery at Holland Lake Dam, and a short journey to Robbs Rapids is always worthwhile. An average amount of rain falls at Backus Lake; June is when you get the most rain here; February is the month with the least moisture. Through the days of summer at Backus Lake highs are frequently       in the 80's with nighttime lows in the 50's. Daytime highs all through the winter are in the 10's; after the sun is down all through the winter temperatures at Backus Lake drop into the-10's. Why not camp at Timber Creek Camp if you're here at Backus Lake, and not far from Backus Lake you'll come across Holland Lake which is a pretty lake. Man, is there a heap of exciting stuff to do in the neighborhood of Backus Lake. Arrowhead Lake Creek flows through                  this vicinity, and you can go for a hike on the Plum Creek Trail. If you came for an overnight stay Noma Lake Campground and Picnic Area is a nice site to camp. This lake is so wonderful.
