here at Babble Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Cascade River Campground is a splendid spot for that. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at The Mountain Inn; pleasant hiking is available along the Height
of Land Portage. Do have a look at Tomash Lake near Babble Lake, it's a gorgeous lake.
Eagle Ridge Resort at Lutsen Mountains is a splendid place to get some rest; if you like skiing, you're in luck; Lutsen is pretty near.

I have only been there in the winter waiting for the mushers to come through (for the Beargease Marathon), it is where I want my ashes to be. I missed one year of the Beargrease race (1998) but the next year I was there at Two Island it was a full moon and it was snowing at the same time, could see down the trail like it was daylight but it was snowing....that was my sign...like I didn't fall in love with it before...this is a beautiful place, small camground but nice in the summer. jkf... |
