Near Amik Lake you hit upon the Simpson Creek Trail System which is a delightful hiking trail, and camping is available at West Seelye Campground. Going for a hike on the Turtle Mound Trail is always a magnificent adventure, and camping at East Seelye Campground is always a perfect experience. Trappers Landing Lodge is a nice spot to get some rest; do schedule some time to visit East Seelye       Bay if you have a chance. A wooded region close to Amik Lake is Cutfoot Experimental Forest, and Amik Lake Dam is a beautiful spot. Be careful coming to Amik Lake, you might not ever wanna go back home again. There is a wonderful hiking trail in close proximity to Amik Lake called the Cutfoot Sioux National Recreation Trail. Amik Lake gets a typical amount of precipitation; most of the rain falls during June; February meanwhile is the driest month. High                  temperatures at Amik Lake throughout the months of summer are in the 70's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 50's.
