A typical amount of rainfall falls here at Alton Lake; most of the rain falls through August; the driest month is February. This lake is so wonderful. A fine close by hotel is Caribou Highlands Lodge. If the weather is great here at Alton Lake, you can go for a hike along the Honeymoon Trail, and there are some great whitewater spots on Temperance River. A lake nearby is Kelso Lake, and there is a good hiking       trail close by called the Pine Portage. The Rib Lake Trail is a great hiking trail near Alton Lake, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Temperance River. So many cool things right next door to Alton Lake, clearly inspiring. The snow is great at Lutsen, and do go to Kelso River while you're here at Alton Lake. Baker Lake Campground is a magnificent campground nearby, and Wonder Lake is a nearby lake that you                  could pop by. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a spot to stay Americinn - Tofte, Mn is a tremendous choice, and Sawbill Campground is a great local campground. Throughout the warm months at Alton Lake highs are ordinarily in the 70's with overnight lows in the 50's.
