From a precipitation point of view Alton Lake is a pretty typical location; August is the wettest month with most rain, and February is when it's the driest. After a long day outdoors Eagle Ridge Resort at Lutsen Mountains is a great spot to spend a night or two; there are other sites here than Alton Lake, for example Kelso Lake. Now, you may assume that's loads       but there's even more entertaining stuff to do here at Alton Lake. Everybody nearby loves skiing at Lutsen; not far from Alton Lake you'll stumble on Wonder Lake which is a pretty lake. All through the days of summer, highs mostly are in the 70's at Alton Lake. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 50's. For the duration of the winter this place gets highs in the 10's, and nighttime lows in the-10's for Alton Lake. This lake is so wonderful. On a splendid                  day at Alton Lake you can take a hike along the Pine Portage; Alton Lake is a tremendous location to visit for more than one day, Baker Lake Campground is a tremendous location to camp nearby. If the weather is brilliant here at Alton Lake, you can go for a hike along the Rib Lake Trail, and there's whitewater on Temperance River for all you adrenaline kick people. Going for a hike along the Honeymoon Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood, and why not take a little journey to Kelso River if you're here. This lake is so wonderful.
