Dry warm beds await you at Eagle Ridge Resort at Lutsen Mountains; on a great day you can take a hike along the South Lake Portage. to do here at Allen Lake, too magnificent to be true. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Lutsen is in close proximity to Allen Lake, and Jump Lake is a nearby lake that you could explore. This lake is so wonderful. The top of Misquah
Hills is easily seen from Allen Lake, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Cascade River.

 | I have only been there in the winter waiting for the mushers to come through (for the Beargease Marathon), it is where I want my ashes to be. I missed one year of the Beargrease race (1998) but the next year I was there at Two Island it was a full moon and it was snowing at the same time, could see down the trail like it was daylight but it was snowing....that was my sign...like I didn't fall in love with it before...this is a beautiful place, small camground but nice in the summer. jkf... |
