Thelma Lake is a lake in close proximity, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Temperance River. This lake is so wonderful. Why not camp at Gunflint Pines since you're here at Ahgoday Lake, and the snow is good at Lutsen. The amount of rain that falls at Ahgoday Lake is close to the national average; August is the wettest month with most rain, and February       is when it's the driest. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors entertaining stuff the area in close proximity to Ahgoday Lake has to offer. A great close by hotel is Eagle Ridge Resort at Lutsen Mountains, and you can go for a hike on the Rib Lake Trail. If you came for an overnight stay Sawbill Campground is a good place to camp; nearby you discover the Gneiss Trail which is a wonderful hiking trail. At Ahgoday Lake throughout the months of summer                  highs are in the 70's, and the night is a bit chillier of course, generally in the 50's. All through the winter highs are commonly in the 10's while Ahgoday Lake nighttime low temperatures through the winter are in the-10's.
