Hiking along the Honeymoon Trail is delightful fun, and if you're here, you could also have a look at wonderful Caribou Lake. If you need a place to stay Caribou Highlands Lodge is a good choice, and Vat Lake is a nearby lake that you could visit. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Lake Agnes has to offer, you can camp at Crescent Lake Campground, and there are some splendid whitewater spots on Cascade River. I have only been there in the winter waiting for the mushers to come through (for the Beargease Marathon), it is where I want my ashes to be. I missed one year of the Beargrease race (1998) but the next year I was there at Two Island it was a full moon and it was snowing at the same time, could see down the trail like it was daylight but it was snowing....that was my sign...like I didn't fall in love with it before...this is a beautiful place, small camground but nice in the summer. jkf... |
