If you like lakes and you're in this part of Minnesota you can check out Lake Agnes. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking along the Honeymoon Trail is pleasant fun, and camping is available at Crescent Lake Campground. Lake Agnes gets a normal amount of annual rain; the month with most of the rain is August, and the driest month of the year is February. on Cascade River for all you adrenaline rush seekers. This lake is so wonderful. Have a great hiking adventure along the North Shore State Trail. There are some tremendous whitewater spots on Poplar River, and if you need a site to stay Caribou Highlands Lodge is a great choice.

Two Island Lake Campground
 | 17 miles away I have only been there in the winter waiting for the mushers to come through (for the Beargease Marathon), it is where I want my ashes to be. I missed one year of the Beargrease race (1998) but the next year I was there at Two Island it was a full moon and it was snowing at the same time, could see down the trail like it was daylight but it was snowing....that was my sign...like I didn't fall in love with it before...this is a beautiful place, small camground but nice in the summer. jkf... |
