Going for a hike along the Pine Portage will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity, and Afton Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Sawbill Campground is a great local campground. Summertime highs at Afton Lake frequently tend to be in the 70's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 50's. Daytime highs during       the winter are in the 10's, and nighttime lows during the winter for Afton Lake tend to be in the-10's. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Afton Lake you can take a hike along the Maraboeuf Lake Portage. A quick trip to Frost River close to Afton Lake is a pleasant idea, and after a long day outdoors Americinn - Tofte, Mn is a great place to spend a night or two.
