     Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always explore close by Seahorse Lake; do check out Chub River while you're here at Acorn Lake. This is a brilliant region for people who like lakes. Rumpuss Lake is a lake around here, and there is a nice hiking trail close by called the Gneiss Lake Portage. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Acorn Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Gunflint Pines is a pleasant spot for that,  
   and the Maraboeuf Lake Portage is a great hiking trail close by. From a precipitation point of view Acorn Lake is a rather typical location; August is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month of the year is February.
Any time is a nice time at Acorn Lake if you go for the outdoors. If you need a site to stay Eagle Ridge Resort at Lutsen Mountains is a fine choice. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Acorn Lake has to offer, you
 
               can camp at Sawbill Campground; if the weather is wonderful, you can go for a hike along the Gneiss Trail. At Acorn Lake all through the summer highs are in the 70's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 10's, and overnight lows in the-10's for Acorn Lake.
