    If you like lakes and you're in this part of Michigan you can check out Lake of the Woods. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Lake of the Woods without first going for a hike along the Caberfae Way Snowmobile Trail, and why not a little side spree to Burkett Creek. Burton Trailer Park is a delightful campground nearby; hey, Gotta ski right? Caberfae Peaks is a tremendous place to do that.
Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always check
 
   out close by Carpenter Lake; the nice people of Traverse City like to hang out nearby. High temperatures at Lake of the Woods during the months of summer are in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. Through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's; during the dark hours in the wintertime at Lake of the Woods temperatures dip to the 10's. There's good hiking along the McKenzie Ski Trail. Lakes are magnificent; Oatly Lake is a lake  
               that's next to Lake of the Woods.
If you want a perfect time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Lake of the Woods. Crystal Mountain Resort and Spa is a great location to get some rest, and if you came for an overnight stay Mesick Trailer Park is a great spot to camp. The Lincoln Mills Snowmobile Trail offers hiking at its best, and whitewater paddling is perfect on Pine River. An average amount of rain falls at Lake of the Woods; the month of September is the wettest with most of the rain, and February is the month with the least moisture.
This lake is so wonderful. In case you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Boardman River; if you need a place to stay Econo Lodge Traverse City is a splendid choice.
