Ice fishing and snowmobiling for winter fun! The Gladwin County Ice Carnival used to be held on the lake, many years ago, partly for safety reasons, the carnival was moved onto land across the road from where is had been held on the water. There are mud bogs and truck pulls and racing. There is also a lot of state land near the Wixom Lake area. There is a glorious hiking trail in the vicinity of Wixom Lake called the Center Fireline Trail, and a quick journey to Fowley Drain is definitely a glorious idea. From a rain point of view Wixom Lake is a pretty typical spot; through the month of September you get the most rain around here, and February is when it's the driest. If you need a place to stay Midland Resort is a magnificent choice,       and on a glorious day you can take a hike along the Mosquito Alley Truck Trail. You're perhaps addicted to lakes, Sanford Lake is one of those nearby; J and J's Landing is a good local campground. This lake is so wonderful. Flats Campground is a splendid campground nearby. For the period of the days of summer here at Wixom Lake, high temperatures ordinarily get into the 80's, and the nighttime is a little colder of course, frequently in the 50's. High temperatures                  throughout the wintertime are normally in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Wixom Lake. This lake is so wonderful. If you're here at Wixom Lake and you like golf, you can stop at Gulley Golf Course, and if the weather is fine, you can go for a hike along the Guernsey Creek Trail. Edenville Dam is worth going to if you're here, and Wixom Lake is a spot with many visitors from Midland. You simply have to like Wixom Lake. Dry warm beds await you at Sleep Inn Midland.
