Paddling on Pine River is so much fun; Wide Waters is a good spot to visit for more than one day, Old Grade Campground is a good spot to camp nearby. From a rainfall point of view Wide Waters is a rather common spot; throughout September this area sees the most rain; the driest month is February.

If you like swamps, you're in luck, Baldwin Luther Swamp is right close by, and while you're here you can take a hike along the McKenzie Ski Trail.
