It's always fun to stop by Wetmore Lake. So much entertaining stuff right next door to Wetmore Lake, completely inspiring. A day on the slopes of Timber Ridge is just what you need, and if you came for an overnight stay Beechpoint is a great site to camp. Lakes are good; Little Spec Lake is a lake that's near Wetmore Lake, and after a long day outdoors Budget Host Sunset Motel is a wonderful location to spend a night or two. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody

At Wetmore Lake through the warm months highs are in the 80's while nighttime lows are mostly in the 50's. During the winter highs are in the 20's while Wetmore Lake nighttime low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Super 8 Motel - Hudsonville, and while you're here you will meet lots of folks from nearby
Allegan. This is a perfect region for people who like lakes. Dumont Lake is a lake close by, and enjoy a round of golf at Diamond Springs Golf Course.

Bittersweet

Bittersweet has enormous snow-making capacity and is consistently the first to open in SW Michigan. Their vertical is only 350 ft, but that's about 100 more than any other resort in SW Michigan. As noted, their lift system is impressive, particularly the high speed detachable quad, but lines can get a little long on late December weekends. Their terrain park has a good variety of boxes, jumps, etc. Very friendly people....Yea you guys rock i love the snow...Ahh yes, Bittersweet Ski Area... Michigan skiing at it's very best. The drops in these part of the country are not that impressive but I think Bittersweet makes the most of it. I do recommend this ski area.... |

It is not very big, but all of the employees are cool and you never have to wait in line to get on the lift. They sometimes seem to overestimate the amount of snow that they have also. I sometimes wonder if they actually measure the snowpiles that have been plowed in the parking lot instead of what is actually on the hill.... |
