There is a brilliant hiking trail near Walkup Lake called the Honeymoon Lake Snowmobile Trail, and you're in all probability keen on lakes, Leaf Lake is one of those close by. Going for a hike on the North Country National Scenic Trail is always a good adventure, and a perfect close by hotel is Holiday Inn BIG RAPIDS.
