Upper Woodcock Lake is not the only site nearby, Harvey Lake is a nearby lake, and lots of people from Traverse City come here. After a long day outdoors Crystal Mountain Resort and Spa is a nice place to spend a night or two. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Upper Woodcock Lake has to offer, you can camp at Turtle Lake Campgrounds. If only every place had       this much outdoors exciting things, what a great planet it would be. Skiing at Crystal Mountain is one of those things you just have to do; if you need a place to stay Best Western Scenic Hill Resort is a pleasant choice. This lake is so wonderful. Through the warm months highs here at Upper Woodcock Lake reach the 70's while night lows are generally in the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures                  at Upper Woodcock Lake descend into the 10's. If time allows, Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore is a national park worth a visit, and there are some brilliant whitewater spots on Boardman River. A lake close by is Lower Woodcock Lake. There's so much to do here at Upper Woodcock Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Sunnywoods Platte River is a pleasant place for that. Very striking scenery and delightful skiing is what you get at Homestead; an afternoon playing golf at Mistwood Golf Course is always a joy.
