This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Island Lake Campground is always a wonderful experience, and there's great hiking along the Valley Spur Ski Trail. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors amusing things the area in the vicinity of Upper Lake has to offer. If you're here at Upper Lake, you could check out Grassy Creek, and if you have time, Pictured Rocks       National Lakeshore is a national park worth a visit. If you came to camp Wide Water Campground is a tremendous spot to do that. After a long day outdoors Americas Best Value Inn - Wetmore is a pleasant place to spend a night or two; perfect hiking is available along the Haywire Grade ORV Trail. There are other places here than Upper Lake, for example Onega Lake, and don't leave Upper Lake without first going for a hike along the Big Island Lake Portage Canoe                  Trail. Upper Lake is a good place of normal rain; of all the months in a year September is the one with the most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Summertime highs at Upper Lake ordinarily tend to be in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 50's.
