This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Holyoke Trail, and a round of golf at nearby Red Fox Run Golf Course is a brilliant way to kill some time. Lots of people from Marquette come to Uncle Tom Lake; whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Escanaba River - East Branch. There's whitewater on Escanaba River - Middle Branch for all you adrenaline rush seekers; it's a       magnificent idea to stop by O'Neal Creek. If you came to camp Horseshoe Lake Camp Grounds is a perfect site to do that; the skiing at Marquette is great. This lake is so wonderful. Red Fox Inn is a pleasant location to get some rest, and if you've had enough of Uncle Tom Lake, Powell Lake is nearby. There's just no way someone can get bored here at Uncle Tom Lake. A glorious close by hotel is Quartz Mountain Inn Motel, and Uncle Tom Lake is good enough                  to spend more than a day at, Gitche Gumee Campground and RV is a good local campground. From a rainfall point of view Uncle Tom Lake is a reasonably typical location; most of the rain falls during September; the driest month of the year is February. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to Uncle Tom Lake. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 50's.
