So much enjoyable stuff to do here at Twin Lakes, too splendid to be true. There are great spots to explore along the Lincoln Mills Snowmobile Trail, and at Twin Lakes you always meet someone from Cadillac. This lake is

so wonderful. If you need a location to stay Econo Lodge Traverse City is a wonderful choice, and Twin Lakes is great enough to spend more than a day at, Mesick Trailer Park is a great local campground. This lake is so wonderful. Days Inn Cadillac is a glorious site to get some rest, and in the event that you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Boardman River.
The amount of precipitation that falls at Twin Lakes is close to the national average; September is the wettest month with most rain, and February is the month with the least moisture. There is a great hiking trail in close proximity to Twin Lakes called the Caberfae Way Snowmobile Trail, and Pine River has a tremendous whitewater paddling spot close by.

Peterson Bridge S Campground
16 miles away
We had picked the pine river to canoe in the summer of 2004 and were told a good rustic campground would be a good choice. As it turned out it was by far the best camp site I had ever stayed in and had a great time. Our site happened to be next to the river with a great view, secluded and close to the river. I would highly recommend this campground for access to the pine river. Great canoeing, kayaking, fishing, etc. swimming...

Pine River
16 miles away
Actually, the best paddling on the Pine River is below Lincoln, and especially in the section from Dobson Bridge to Low Bridge (approximately 21 miles). there are numerous CI rapids from about 20 minutes US from Dobson to about 20 minutes US from Low Bridge. Unfortunately, due to livery traffic the river is kept cleared to excess. Most of the leaning trees and logjams that make padding interesting have been removed so the drunken rental boat paddlers don't get into trouble....
