Peaks is a very popular ski area close at hand. I can't stop, cause I'm havin' a brilliant time here at Twin Lake. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Twin Lake; Hungerford Cross Country Ski Trail is a pleasant local trail; if
you're popping by from Cadillac, you won't be the only one.
Twin Lake is a good place of common rainfall; during the month of September you get the most rain around here while February is usually the driest month.

We had picked the pine river to canoe in the summer of 2004 and were told a good rustic campground would be a good choice. As it turned out it was by far the best camp site I had ever stayed in and had a great time. Our site happened to be next to the river with a great view, secluded and close to the river. I would highly recommend this campground for access to the pine river. Great canoeing, kayaking, fishing, etc. swimming... |

Actually, the best paddling on the Pine River is below Lincoln, and especially in the section from Dobson Bridge to Low Bridge (approximately 21 miles). there are numerous CI rapids from about 20 minutes US from Dobson to about 20 minutes US from Low Bridge. Unfortunately, due to livery traffic the river is kept cleared to excess. Most of the leaning trees and logjams that make padding interesting have been removed so the drunken rental boat paddlers don't get into trouble.... |
