Good hiking is available along the Horseshoe Bay Trail, and Twin Lake is tremendous enough to spend more than a day at, Mackinaw City Camping is a tremendous local campground. What would winter be without some skiing at Nubs Nob; some of the water close by flows, like Mud Creek. Lakes are glorious; Nolten Lake is a lake that's in the neighborhood of Twin Lake. There's so much to do here at Twin Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Mackinaw Campgrounds is a great location for that. Twin Lake gets a common amount of yearly                  rainfall; the month of September is the wettest with most of the rain while February is regularly the driest month.
