Whitewater paddling is fine on Eagle River; if you have the time, Isle Royale National Park is a national park worth stopping at. If you wish for a little side journey, try Hutchinson Shoal, and Turtle Lake is good enough to spend more than a day at, Hancock Recreation Area                  is a good local campground. This lake is so wonderful. During the summertime months highs here at Turtle Lake get into the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 50's. For the duration of the wintertime the highs are generally in the 20's, and night lows in the 0's for Turtle Lake.
