From a precipitation point of view Torch Lake is a relatively common location; most of the snow falls through January, and April is when it's the driest. You can run the rapids of Gratiot River near Torch Lake; a picturesque lake like Portage Lake is a fine spot to check out. An afternoon playing golf at Calumet Golf Course is always a bliss; after a long day outdoors Americinn - Calumet, Mi is a perfect       spot to spend a night or two. Getting to Dover Creek from Torch Lake is easy, and a great place for whitewater paddling is Eagle River. Summertime highs at Torch Lake usually tend to be in the 70's. Summer night lows dip down to the 50's. Highs all through the wintertime are frequently in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Torch Lake are in the 0's. Calumet Lake is a great lake near Torch Lake, and camping at Hancock Recreation Area is always a great                  experience. This lake is so wonderful. Torch Lake is not far at all from Houghton. So much fun stuff right next door to Torch Lake, definitely incredible. Dry warm beds await you at Budget Host Inn Houghton, and Torch Lake is glorious enough to spend more than a day at, Sunset Bay RV Resort is a glorious local campground. This lake is so wonderful.
