If you came for an overnight stay Wolverine Camps is a good location to camp; glide down the rapids of Sturgeon River in a kayak. Gotta ski! Boyne Mountain is a wonderful place to do that; if you come at the right time of year, Bear River offers some brilliant whitewater. An average amount of precipitation falls at Lake Thumb; September is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest of the months       is February. Be careful coming to Lake Thumb, you might not ever wanna go back home again. Camping is available at Gaylord Campground; after a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Express GAYLORD is a pleasant place to spend a night or two.
