Thompson Lake is a nice lake to visit. Having a great time at Thompson Lake is trouble-free. A pretty lake like Logan Lakes next to Thompson Lake is a fine site to check out, and Thompson Lake is a splendid place to visit for more than one day, Taylor's Beach Campground is a splendid place to camp nearby. From a precipitation point of view Thompson Lake is a pretty normal place; the month with most of the rain is September; the driest of the months is February.

| | Earl Lake is a perfect lake right next door to Thompson Lake, and get covered with water paddling on Huron River. Lake Chemung Outdoor Resort is a wonderful campground nearby, and you can hit the slopes at Mount Brighton close at hand. If you need a site to stay Kensington Inn is a wonderful choice, and while you're here and you like golf, you can have a look at Marion Oaks Golf Club. overnight lows are generally in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's while Thompson Lake night low temperatures all through the winter are in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. Here at Thompson Lake there are plenty of people from Ann Arbor; Best Western Of Howell is a brilliant site to get some rest.

Bruin Lake
 | 13 miles away First visit was a pleasant one. Boat launch is real shallow, I have a Glastron SX 175 v hull and had difficulty getting boat to clear trailer without backing tow vehicle farther into lake than usual. From there, things just got better. The water is pleasantly clean, but very shallow on the north side. However, the channels connecting Bruin to the other lakes are great. We spent all day on the water. Blind lake is a beautiful little lake with several sand bars, a swimming platform and a couple of rope swings for the kids to get out of the boat and play on. Overall, we were very pleased with the fact that we chose Bruin rather that our normal haunt Portage.... |

Jones Lake
