A normal amount of precipitation falls here at Third Lake; the month of January is the wettest with most of the snow; the driest month of the year is April. A tremendous close by hotel is Best Western Baraga Lakeside Inn, and you must without doubt go to pretty Second Sand Beach while you're here. If you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling       on Silver River, and after a long day outdoors Budget Host Inn Houghton is a great spot to spend a night or two. Now, you may imagine that's a heap but there's even more amusing stuff to do here at Third Lake. A journey to Isle Royale National Park is worthwhile. Throughout the days of summer, highs typically are in the 70's at Third Lake; all through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 20's while the cold winter                  nights at Third Lake are in the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. Getting to Gomanche Creek from Third Lake is uncomplicated, and if you're going to from Houghton, you won't be the only one.
