An average amount of rainfall falls at Straits Lake; the month of September is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest month is February. During the warm days of summer, highs ordinarily are in the 70's at Straits Lake. Through the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 50's. Daytime highs during the       winter are in the 20's with temperatures at Straits Lake dipping down into the 0's throughout winter nights. Dry warm beds await you at Americas Best Value Inn - Wetmore; you can go for a hike on the Valley Spur Ski Trail. There are some good whitewater spots on Au Train River. This lake is so wonderful. If time allows, Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore is a national park worth stopping at, and going for a hike on the Big Island Lake Portage Canoe Trail is                  always a perfect adventure.
