Stone Lake in fact is in the middle of a beautiful outdoors paradise. The friendly people of South Bend-Mishawaka like to hang out nearby, and if you need a site to stay Baymont Inn & Suites Dowagiac is a splendid choice. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Stone Lake with night lows in the 60's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 30's; nighttime lows in the 10's       for Stone Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Get your pulse rate up on the great whitewater of East Race; since you're here you can play some golf at Diamond Lake Golf Club. Timber Ridge is a glorious local ski area; if you came for an overnight stay Living waters is a nice site to camp. Stone Lake is a good location of typical rain; September is the wettest month with most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Whitewater                  paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Christiana Creek, and Sunny Haven Recreation Park is a pleasant campground nearby.
