Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Escanaba River, and unsurprisingly Helps Creek flows through this neighborhood. This is no place for people who don’t like to enjoy themselves. Summertime highs at Stephenson Lake typically tend to be in the 70's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 50's. Highs       through the winter are ordinarily in the 20's with temperatures at Stephenson Lake dipping down into the 0's all through winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes are such serene sites, why not stop at Marsh Lake close to Stephenson Lake, and if you come at the right time of year, Sturgeon River offers some brilliant whitewater. Stephenson Lake is good enough to spend more than a day at, Norway Lake Park Paystation is a good local campground, and Lake                  Number Eighteen is a wonderful lake close by.
