     Boyne Mountain has perfect slopes and a friendly staff, and whitewater paddling is great on Sturgeon River. This lake is so wonderful. Gaylord Campground is a great campground nearby, naturally you could also go to Lake Eighteen while you're here; it's not far at all. And if that's not sufficient, there's loads more to do in the vicinity of Standard Lake. After a long day outdoors Quality Inn Gaylord is a wonderful spot to spend a night or two, and Standard  
   Lake is a magnificent location to visit for more than one day, Wolverine Camps is a magnificent location to camp nearby. A great nearby hotel is Holiday Inn Express GAYLORD, and get covered with water paddling on Bear River.
Summertime highs at Standard Lake ordinarily tend to be in the 70's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 50's. Highs throughout the wintertime are regularly in the 20's with temperatures at Standard Lake dipping down into the 10's during
 
               winter nights. Treetops Sylvan is a very popular ski area around here, and a lake close by is Reardon Lake. Standard Lake gets a common amount of yearly rainfall; most of the rain falls through September; February meanwhile is the driest month.

They are allowed on the entire ski area and have a new terrain park with 12 features for their own private use.The new terrain park contains 2 flat 10' beginner rails as well as a 20' intermediate round rail. There are some challenging additions such as a beginner 16' battle ship kinked rail as well as a 16' intermediate rainbow rail. In addition, there are man-made and natural jib features such as barrels, and logs that can be used to slide or jump over or tap with skis or boards. Nordic enthusiasts will find the ''Midwest's best terrain'' for cross-country skiing. The 12 km of groomed and tracked trails are all clearly marked and range in difficulty from beginner to expert. Treetops also offers extreme (snow) tubing. The tubing ride is available by 1.5 hour sessions for up to 30 people at a time. Advance reservations can be made for this exhilarating experience.
