If you came for an overnight stay Wide Water Campground is a great site to camp; Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore is a very nice spot to go to. This lake is so wonderful. A stunning lake like Verdant Lake in the vicinity of Spud Lake is a great site to visit, and on a good day you can take a hike along the Haywire Grade       ORV Trail. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to Spud Lake. Summer nighttime lows sink down to the 50's. For the period of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Spud Lake are in the 0's. You'll stumble on a pretty lake called Nineteen Lake near Spud Lake. If the weather is brilliant here at Spud Lake, you can go for a hike along the Big Island Lake Portage Canoe Trail, and dry warm beds await you                  at AmericInn Munising.
