You'll hit upon a delightful lake called North Pond near South Pond, and don't forget to stop by Back Bay while you're here. There's magnificent hiking along the North Country Trail, and dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn Sault Ste. Marie. This lake is so wonderful. You might want to pay a visit to Point Iroquois Shoals if you're here at South Pond, and you can stay the night at Chippewa       Landing. Don't leave South Pond without first going for a hike along the Mackinac Trail, and if you need a site to stay Best Western Sault Ste. Marie is a magnificent choice. While you're here at South Pond you can play some golf at Wild Bluff Golf Course, and do explore Spectacle Lake, it's a pretty lake. South Pond gets a normal amount of rain; September is the wettest month with most rain, and April on the other hand is the driest.
